1. Who We Are

In some circumstances, information you share with us may reveal sensitive information, such as information about your religious beliefs, health or personal circumstances. We will handle this information with particular care and only where we have an appropriate lawful basis for doing so.

3. How We Use Your Information

We may use personal information to:

4. Our Lawful Bases for Using Your Information

UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful reason for using personal information.

Depending on the circumstances, we may rely on:

Consent — for example, when you choose to receive marketing emails or other optional communications from us.

Legitimate interests — where using your information is reasonably necessary for the operation and ministry of ACTS UK and those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.

Legal obligation — where we are required to process or retain information to comply with the law, including certain financial, safeguarding or Gift Aid obligations.

Contract — where processing your information is necessary in connection with an agreement or arrangement between you and ACTS UK.

Where we process special category information, including information revealing religious beliefs or information concerning health, we will also ensure that an appropriate additional condition under data protection law applies.

5. iKnow Church

We use iKnow Church as our church management database and for functions including event registration.

Information you provide to ACTS UK may therefore be stored and processed through iKnow Church on our behalf.

Access to church records is limited to authorised people who require that information for their role or responsibilities.

6. Email Communications

If you choose to receive ACTS UK news, upcoming events and other updates, we may use your email address to send these communications.

Receiving marketing or general church updates is optional. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe option provided in our emails or by contacting us at info@actsuk.com.

Withdrawing your consent to marketing will not prevent us from sending essential communications relating to something you have registered for, requested or are directly involved in.

7. Donations and Gift Aid

Where you make a donation or Gift Aid declaration, we may collect information needed to administer the donation, maintain appropriate financial records and make Gift Aid claims to HM Revenue & Customs.

This may include your name, address, donation information and Gift Aid declaration.

We may be legally required to retain some of this information for a specified period even if you later ask us to delete other information we hold about you.

If ACTS UK introduces online giving through a third-party payment provider, we will update this Privacy Policy to explain how that provider processes information.

8. Photography, Filming and Livestreaming

Some ACTS UK services and events may be photographed, filmed or livestreamed.

This may include wider images or footage of the congregation as well as people participating in services or events.

Where appropriate, we will provide information at events about photography, filming or livestreaming and take reasonable steps to respect requests from individuals who do not wish to appear prominently in photographs or footage.

We take particular care regarding the use of identifiable images of children and young people and will consider safeguarding and data protection requirements when using such images.

9. Children and Young People

Children and young people are an important part of ACTS UK.

Where we need to collect personal information about a child or young person, we will only collect information that is reasonably necessary for their participation, wellbeing, safety or involvement in church activities.

We will take appropriate care with this information and apply suitable safeguarding and data protection measures.

10. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information.

Where necessary, we may share information with trusted organisations or service providers that help us operate ACTS UK, such as:

church management and event-registration providers;

website, email and IT service providers;

professional advisers;

HM Revenue & Customs in connection with Gift Aid or other legal requirements;

regulators or statutory authorities where required by law; and

safeguarding or emergency services where sharing information is necessary to protect someone or comply with our legal responsibilities.

Where another organisation processes personal information on our behalf, we expect appropriate safeguards to be in place.

Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, we will take appropriate steps to ensure that the transfer complies with applicable UK data protection law.

11. How Long We Keep Information

We only keep personal information for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or for as long as we are required to retain it by law.

Different types of information may therefore be kept for different periods.

For example, certain financial and Gift Aid records must be retained in accordance with HM Revenue & Customs requirements.

When information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to securely delete, destroy or anonymise it.

12. Keeping Your Information Secure

We take reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

Access to personal information is limited to trustees, leaders, staff, volunteers or service providers who have a legitimate reason to access it.

13. Your Rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy;

ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;

ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances;

ask us to restrict how your information is used;

object to certain uses of your information;

request the transfer of certain information where applicable; and

withdraw consent at any time where we rely on your consent.

If you would like to exercise one of these rights, please contact info@actsuk.com.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before consent was withdrawn.

14. Your Right to Object

Where we rely on legitimate interests to process your personal information, you have the right to object to that processing in certain circumstances.

You also have the right to object at any time to the use of your personal information for direct marketing.

To do so, contact info@actsuk.com or use the unsubscribe option included in our marketing emails.

15. Cookies and Our Website

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to help it operate correctly, understand how it is being used and support features provided by third-party services.

Some cookies are necessary for the website to function. Other cookies, such as analytics or certain third-party cookies, may require your consent before they are used.

Because our website is currently being developed, the specific cookies and third-party services used may change. We will provide appropriate cookie information and controls on the website and update this policy where necessary.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our activities, services, systems, legal requirements or the organisations we use to process information.

We will publish the latest version on our website and update the date at the top of this policy.

When the registered name of Bethel Prophetic Centre formally changes to ACTS UK, this policy will be updated to reflect the new legal name.
