ROOTED IN TRUTH.
ALIVE IN GOD.

What we Believe.

Our faith is centred on Jesus, grounded in Scripture and lived out through the power of the Holy Spirit.

What we believe is not simply something we agree with but it shapes how we worship, how we live and how we follow Jesus together.

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the foundation for what we believe and how we live.

Scripture reveals who God is, points us to Jesus and gives us truth, wisdom and direction for everyday life.

2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NIV)
“All Scripture is God-breathed…”

Also see: Psalm 119:105

GOD

We believe in one God — Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

He is holy, loving, powerful and faithful, the Creator of all things and worthy of all worship.

Matthew 28:19 (NIV)
“…in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

Also see: Deuteronomy 6:4

JESUS

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man.

He lived without sin, died on the cross for us, rose again and is alive today.

Through Jesus, we are forgiven, reconciled to God and invited into new life.

He is the centre of our faith and the head of His Church.

John 1:14 (NIV)
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.”

Also see: Colossians 1:15–20; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4

SALVATION

We believe salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone.

It is a gift of grace received through faith — not something we can earn.

Through His death and resurrection, we can be forgiven, made new and brought into relationship with God.

Ephesians 2:8–9 (NIV)
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith…”

Also see: Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and is present and active in the Church today.

He leads us into truth, transforms our lives, empowers us to follow Jesus and gives spiritual gifts for the building up of the Church and the work of the Kingdom.

We believe every believer can know the presence and power of the Holy Spirit personally.

Acts 1:8 (NIV)
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you…”

Also see: John 16:13; Galatians 5:22–25

THE CHURCH

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ — a people, not simply a building.

Every believer has a place, a purpose and something to contribute.

We are called to worship together, grow as disciples, love one another and carry the Gospel into the world.

1 Corinthians 12:27 (NIV)
“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”

Also see: Acts 2:42–47

THE KINGDOM OF GOD

We believe Jesus came announcing the Kingdom of God.

As His followers, we are called to live under His rule and reflect His Kingdom wherever we go — bringing truth, hope, compassion and the good news of Jesus into everyday life.

Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness…”

Also see: Mark 1:14–15

HEALING & PRAYER

We believe God still heals and that we are called to pray with faith for those who are sick, hurting or in need.

We trust God’s power, recognise His sovereignty and seek to minister with compassion, humility and wisdom.

James 5:14–16 (NIV)
“…pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.”

Also see: Matthew 8:16–17

That wording is important because it affirms healing without implying that every person will necessarily be healed in the way or timing we expect.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS

We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for the Church today.

God gives different gifts to His people so that we can serve one another, strengthen the Church and participate in what He is doing in the world.

1 Corinthians 12:4–7 (NIV)
“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them.”

Also see: Romans 12:6–8; 1 Peter 4:10

BAPTISM

We believe water baptism is an important step of obedience for those who have chosen to follow Jesus.

It is a public declaration of faith and a picture of leaving the old life behind and being raised into new life with Christ.

Romans 6:4 (NIV)
“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death…”

Also see: Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38

COMMUNION

We believe communion is a meaningful and important part of the life of the Church.

As we share bread and wine together, we remember the sacrifice of Jesus, celebrate the new covenant and proclaim His death until He comes.

1 Corinthians 11:26 (NIV)
“For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”

Also see: Luke 22:19–20

THE RETURN OF CHRIST

We believe Jesus will return.

We live with hope and expectation, knowing that God will ultimately make all things new and that His Kingdom will be fully revealed.

Acts 1:11 (NIV)
“This same Jesus… will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

Also see: Revelation 21:1–5; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17

NEW LIFE IN CHRIST

We believe following Jesus leads to a transformed life.

Through the Holy Spirit, we are continually being changed to become more like Christ — growing in holiness, love, character and obedience.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
“If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come…”

Also see: Romans 12:1–2; Galatians 5:22–23

FAITH IN ACTION.

We do not want our beliefs to remain words on a page.

We want to be people who know Jesus, are filled with the Holy Spirit, love Scripture, serve others and live courageously for the Kingdom of God.

What we believe shapes how we live.

James 2:17 (NIV)
“Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”
